Welcome to my Next Gen Web and New Media Blog
I'm from New York originally, but moved to San Francisco over 12 years ago. I've been generating business for some major tech and media firms such as Oracle, EMC and Time Warrner. I'm on the Internet front lines - defining the next generation of web services.
I have a deep understanding of the social nature of media and the broadband services that will tie everything together. I've been fortunate (or crazy enough) to be on the bleeding edge of key technologies which have emerged as billion dollar businesses shaping the consumer Internet.
This Blog is my own personal opinion and not that of my employer.

Brian has been on the bleeding edge of entertainment and technology since he started his first entreprenurial venture - "Qube Technologies" in New York during his undergradute studies in Computer Science and Communications. His progressive thinking helped him capitalize on the earliest forms of digital audio and video for entertainment.
Brian created an innovative night club - The Power and Light Company, pioneering many of the high tech special effects seen in today's super clubs. He later sold it to Marriott Corp.
Brian's involvement with the web started early as well. As an Internet consultant at the Palo Alto WRL - Wester Research Labs of Digital Equipment, he helped pioneer business deals in Internet Search (Alta Vista), MicroCommerce, Digital Video and new Web-based collaborative environments. SeaChange, a leading digital video ad insertion company, spun out from the work in one of his his divisions at DEC.
In the mid 90's his efforts were noticed by executives at SGI, then a hotbed of Silicon Valley talent. They recruited him and put him in charge of growing a new line of computer systems called media servers, which were optimized for streaming digital audio and video for Film Production, Broadcast commercial playback and websites. Under Brian's direction the media server business grew more than 4 fold and establsihed the mini computer maker as market leader. Several members of this team at SGI went on to create TiVo.
Brian would go on to head up digital media business development for two other multi-billion dollar corporations, Oracle and EMC, where he opened new markets in Asia and helped develop the core infrastructure for Digital Cinema and Video-On-Demand and IPTV.
Start-up Voyager Sound sought Brian's expertise to help develop a strategy to market a unique graphical user interface for manipulating audio (GraphiMix), which would drastically reduce the learning curve for consumers to create their own music mixes. The Social Media Networking Startup was just a little ahead of its time in 2003.
In 2005 Brian has helped to transform TimeWarner's AOL open web properties into money making machines in digital distribution and the red hot search marketing arena together with partner Google. Brian's expertise in monetizing media content is showing up in the form of new business alliances that will extend the reach of broadband digital media into GPS consumer electronics devices, mobile and satellite networks.
In 2006 Brian joined broadband video startup permissionTV - heading up the Los Angeles office, working with content producers and distributors to enable their product on the web. As Director of Business Development - he closed deals with major Hollywood Studios and led sales of the online video platform in the US.
Currently, Brian is defining the next generation of real-time web services for media companies and working with Hollywoods Metropolitan Talent Agency as VP of Digital Distribution to monetize Digital Media. ============================
